In 1985, the US Armed Forces adopted the civilian Beretta 92FS handgun as the military ‘M9’. This Beretta became the new standard service pistol to replace the aging Colt M1911A1 from the World Wars. (See my LEGO M1911A1 replica.)
[Read more about the real M9 here.]
The long, open-top slide of the Beretta and its sleek contours made this a fun gun to replicate using LEGO bricks. The model is life-size and completely ‘purist’ in construction. I used many of the newer curves and connector pieces to capture the iconic look-and-feel of the original weapon and give the MOC as smooth and realistic an appearance as possible.
My LEGO brick replica of the M9 features a pull-back trigger, ambidextrous safety switch, look-down iron sights, and a moving hammer.
