Meet my LEGO pet! A lifesize replica of my family cat Cooper, from when he was about one year old.
[May 2024 Note: About 11 years after my design of this original model, The LEGO Group announced the upcoming June 2024 release of their official 21349 Ideas kit featuring a similarly-scaled but otherwise completely unassociated tuxedo cat concept.]
My brick-built cat Cooper features whiskers, realistic shaping, and a unique personality based on the real-life pet. He also features adjustable ears, rotating front paws, and a built-in LEGO Power Functions lighting system. (This provides his eyes with backlighting for better contrast, and the brightness is adjustable.) The custom cat model uses only 1,326 pieces.

Cooper was displayed at the LEGO Brand Retail Store in Tigard, OR, and in the book, Beautiful LEGO: Wild! by Mike Doyle. My brick-built cat was also the ‘Committee Favorite’ award-winning MOC at Bricks Cascade 2019.
